Dr John graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2013. Following this he worked in hospitals in Perth and rural Western Australia before returning to complete medical basic specialist training in St James’s Hospital in Dublin. He gained worked as an Endocrinology Registrar in Tallaght Hospital and as clinical research registrar in Obesity medicine in Galway University Hospital also completing his Masters in Obesity at NUI Galway.

He commenced General practice training in 2020 and has completed rotations in paediatrics, psychiatry and general practice and is currently in his final year of training on the TCD – HSE scheme
