
Childhood Immunisations
Under the HSE Childhood Immunisation Programme, children aged 2 months to 13 months can get their vaccinations for free with their GP. When your child starts school they will get more vaccines under the school immunisation programme. Chicken Pox Vaccine
The Chicken Pox Vaccine protects against Varicella Zoster Virus. This causes chicken pox. It’s also called the Varicella vaccine. It can be given to anyone over 12 months of age. Two injections given at least 4 weeks apart. The Chicken Pox Vaccine is not part of the routine childhood vaccination programme. Please contact your doctor or nurse if you wish your child to get this vaccine. The cost of administration of this vaccine is 30 euro .
