Sick Certs and Social Welfare Certs
Please note, that the allocated time to collect Sick Certs and Social Welfare Certs is between 10am – 11am each morning Monday – Friday.
From March 1st 2019 all weekly certs are being replaced with a closed certification process. The Dept of Social Protection have given guidelines for all GPs to allow a specific time off for specific illness.
This means you will see your GP for the initial free assessment, collect your sick note, social welfare booklet and cert to cover the expected period of illness. No need to return for weekly cert.
After this you will return to work on the initial agreed date, without any need to see the Dr further - unless you need a review. In this case an appointment with your Dr should be booked by you, before the return to work date, to discuss any further time off.
